  • Total Time: 1 hour + 30 mins
  • Yield: 20 balls

Ingredients

Scale

For the Truffles

  • 1 (14.3-oz) package Golden Oreos

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (block-style, not spreadable tub)

  • ½ cup Christmas nonpareils (red/green/white sprinkles)

For the Coating

  • 2 cups light green candy melts

  • 12 teaspoons coconut oil (optional, for thinning)

  • Red heart-shaped sprinkles for decorating

Instructions

Step 1 — Crush the Golden Oreos

Place the whole Golden Oreos—cream included—into a food processor. Pulse until you have a fine, sand-like crumb. This ensures the truffle mixture becomes smooth and cohesive when mixed with the cream cheese.

Step 2 — Combine with Cream Cheese

Transfer the cookie crumbs into a large bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and use an electric mixer on low to blend until the mixture becomes thick, smooth, and dough-like. Avoid overmixing once you add the sprinkles, or the colors may bleed.

Step 3 — Add Nonpareils and Shape the Truffles

Fold the Christmas nonpareils gently into the mixture with a spatula.
Using a medium cookie scoop (1 to 1½ inches), portion out the dough and roll each scoop between your palms to create smooth balls. Place them onto a parchment-lined tray.

Step 4 — Freeze the Dough Balls

Cover the tray with plastic wrap and freeze the truffles for 30 minutes. This step helps the truffles keep their shape during dipping and creates a cleaner finish.

Step 5 — Melt the Candy Coating

Place the green candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each session, until smooth. If too thick, stir in a small amount of coconut oil to thin the coating.

Step 6 — Dip and Decorate

Remove the chilled truffles from the freezer.
Dip each one into the melted candy coating using a fork or candy dipper, letting excess drip off. Set onto the parchment paper and immediately add a red heart sprinkle to the top before the coating sets.

Step 7 — Set and Serve

Allow the candy coating to harden completely. Once set, your Grinch Oreo Truffles are ready to plate, share, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Add a splash of vanilla extract to deepen the sugar-cookie flavor.

  • Swap Golden Oreos for classic chocolate Oreos, mint Oreos, or birthday cake Oreos.

  • Use white candy melts + green food coloring if light green isn’t available.

  • Turn them into “Grinch faces” with candy eyes and edible markers for eyebrows.

  • Use mini cookie scoops to get 35–40 smaller truffles for parties.
